One of my favourite inspirations from Pinterest for our home has to be our chalkboard wall in the kitchen. It is the only wall in our house that I haven't covered in white paint!
Usually it is filled with a list of jobs to do around the house but I cleaned it specially of this photo ;) What I love the most about this wall is that it can be changed with the season to suit our home.
In order to create your own you simply need a tin of chalkboard paint, (I got mine from my local Mica hardware store - always good to support the independent shops and there are Mica stores all over the UK plus the owners are so friendly and always give me great advice!) a brush, some masking tape for the edges and a white or coloured chalkboard marker!
I masked up the edges and applied two coats of paint letting it dry overnight each time because it is wiped regularly.
For the areas of writing/doodling I want to keep I use a white chalkboard marker but for the day to day tasks that I want to remove I use normal chalk.
It's a good idea to do another thin coat every few months if the board is used a lot!
Our friends and family love our wall and James and I get so many compliments on it and asked how we did it so I thought I'd share this with you. I particularly enjoy doodling on it from time to time ;)
