It’s the moment I'd been dreaming of since I was 3 years old when I was a bridesmaid at my aunt and uncles wedding. Trying on wedding dresses.
I'd visited a few bridal shops before making an appointment to visit J&J designs bridal.
I had in my head exactly what my dress would look like but with an open mind. As it turns out, the image in my head of what I thought would be the 'one' was the complete opposite of what I would end up choosing!
Unlike the other shops I had visited, Amy at J&J designs bridal told me that they did alterations on site and could adapt the dress to be exactly what I wanted. This meant that if I wanted them to they could lower the back, or add straps, add buttons to the back or even a belt. I was really impressed by this.
Amy's family have run the shop for the past 20 years. As we went through the various dresses she made suggestions and brought out dresses which she thought I might like or that were similar to the ones I was wearing but would look better, she really helped the process along!
My parents were able to sit on the sofa opposite whilst I tried them on. It was such a tough decision as the dresses were all absolutely stunning. What I would say is to take photos of them on. Your photos of yourself in your dress will be what you look back at over the years and when you're trying so many different styles on its easy to forget some of them.
I can't wait for my dress to arrive to start the fittings and alterations. They also have a lovely selection of accessories that I'm dying to try on with the dress and see what looks best.
