For decades, scientists have tried to mimic the spider silk which is five times stronger than steel, stable at high temperatures, soft and flexible. Attempts to produce large amounts of spider silk is not viable as it would take millions of spiders to produce just a kilogram of silk.
Dan Widmaier, David Breslauer and Ethan Mirsky are the Founders of ‘Bolt Threads.’ They’ve been working for six years to create an artificial silk which replicas spider’s silk and can be mass-produced.... read my full article here
