What child doesn’t like Disney? There’s a character for everyone. One of my favourites growing up was the little mermaid. I still remember my parents giving me a handmade (by my mother’s fair hands) little mermaid outfit to go on my barbie dolls.
Fancy dress parties in my youth in the nineties were filled with homemade Disney characters, such as young Aladdins and Pochahontas which were very popular as recent releases, but we didn’t have the pre-made attire that is so readily available now.
I won best dressed as Sleeping Beauty one year, and I think the blonde hair down to my hips helped along with my mothers expert sewing skills.
