Fake tan. Love or hate it?

Fake tan has come along way in recent years. As a teen I remember streaky legs, orange hands and 'that' fake tan smell which could be whiffed 2 miles away.

There is something wonderful about having a good, natural looking tan. If done well it can make the wearer glow, it hides the little imperfections and can give confidence and the illusion of 2 weeks at the beach somewhere sunny! (not the UK)

Preparation is key when it comes to a flawless tan.

Here are my tips:-

- Shave at least 24hours before tanning

- Exfoliate the night before

- Avoid deodorant and makeup prior to tanning

- Immediately before tanning tie your hair back and moisturise your hands, knees, elbows and feet

I got my hands on Sienna-x's 1-hour high intensity express tan, their radiance body balm and luxury self tan kit.

Prior to tanning I moisturised my key areas with the prepare and prolong radiance body balm. This contains almond oil, shea-butter and vitamin e. It contains tiny beautiful golden flecks which look incredible even on my pale skin!

Now let me tell you about the mitt.

It is AMAZING.

I've bought mitts before but they don't come close to this one. seriously. Its double sided, the outside is made from velvet with a waterproof lining inside. When I first pulled it out I was a little confused as to how velvet would apply my tan well, it turns out it does the job BEAUTIFULLY. I'm so impressed with this beauty tool - well done Sienna-x!

The tan

It comes out onto the mitt quite fluid so you don't need a lot for each area. I applied the tan in circular motions and braced myself for being quite sticky for a long time. I was pleasantly surprised when the product dried within a minute and i was able to pull my pyjamas on without fear of covering them in tanning product.

An hour later I washed the product off and patted my skin and voila! I have a golden glow (as my parents put it) and look as though I have been sunning myself in warmer climates far away from rainy England.

Hurrah!
