I don’t profess to being the most experienced blogger/influencer.
It is still all relatively new to me, but I have learned a a lot in the past 6 months from designing my own website, working with brands and evolving my camera and editing skills.
If you’re thinking about being a serious Instgram blogger then here are a few things I’ve learned so far that may help you in your journey:
Time
It takes a lot of time planning, shooting and editing your photos. All my spare time is taken up by this as well as writing blog posts, fashion articles, emailing brands and website maintenance. I always try to do a big shoot at the weekends of various pieces to spread out through the week. Everything you look at will turn into an photo opportunity.
Style
This goes without saying really but when I say style I mean your own personal style, everyone has their own creative ideas and its about finding what works for you. Some bloggers have specific themes to all their photos and others have a more varied spread. What I would say is focus on something that you love and that you will never tire of. My photos have evolved over time from the objects I was photographing to the way that I edit them.
Communication
When you start up you will do anything to get brands to notice you and work with you. However its important not to 'sell your soul' for a collaboration. If it doesn't fit with your style then politely decline and suggest something that does. It's important to agree on how many posts you will do and in what time frame as brands can occasionally become pushy for more. It's important to maintain a positive relationships whilst having good communication.
Positivity
Whether I’m having a rubbish day or not I always remain positive on my blog and my social media. Spreading positive messages rather than negative not only helps me feel brighter but I hope it does the same for other people too. I could name all the negatives comments I’ve received on one hand and I hope that this is down to the fact that my posts upbeat and happy. I’ve virtually met some absolutely amazing people since becoming a blogger. There’s a real sense of community and love out there. People congratulating and praising each others talents and inspirations. I think that is one of the loveliest things I have taken away from it so far.
Good luck and if you have any questions for me please don't hesitate to email!
