bareMinerals

I’ve always heard good things about bareMinerals, when it comes to mineral make-up its one of the best known.

Launched in 1995, bareMinerals was developed by Leslie Blodgett to create a powder devoid of chemicals. As someone who used to suffer from acne I don’t know how I haven’t gotten round to trying it until now.

After speaking with the lovely girl at the counter about my skin type (combination) and preference for coverage (medium, buildable) we agreed to try the Original SPF15 Foundation in medium beige (medium skin with neutral undertones).

Before applying she prepped my skin with their gorgeous ‘prime time’ foundation primer.

She buffed the powder into my skin on one side and showed me the result. It looked and felt as though I wasn’t wearing any makeup but my skin was flawless (compared to the untouched half of my face).

Then she got me to have a go on the other side. She showed me to tap a little into the lid and swirl the brush around and tap off the excess in the lid. Then in circular motions, buff the powder into my face in circular motions.

I find that with a lot of liquid foundations I’ve used, they exacerbate the appearance of the lines on my skin. The bareMinerals seems to diminish them and improves the appearance of my skin and hides my blotchiness.

For a naturally beautiful, buildable and breathable foundation, this has to be number 1!
