As a child I was Goldilocks, I guess that makes my parents and my brother the three bears?
My hair was so blonde and long and I could sit on it, or use it as a scarf three times over!
At the age of thirteen I decided to get my long hair chopped off, because that’s what everyone else was doing at the time. Big mistake.
Safe to say before the days of decent hair straighteners I had the equivalent of a helmet head and being tall I looked like a boy, in fact I got likened to Shakespeare’s Cesario from twelfth night much to my horror!
Needless to say from that moment I started painfully growing my hair. Unfortunately, it never grew back as long or as thick as it had once been and my ends were forever split from all the straightening I would do to try to reduce the frizz which developed.
So at the age of 18 I started wearing hair extensions. They brought thickness to my poor hair and a little length and made me feel gorgeous and girly.
I wore extensions for nine years and tried weaves, clip ins, micro beads, glued in wefts. You name it I tried it! I nervously decided to take the plunge and have my hair cut short again last year.
Although I absolutely love my easy to maintain and striking lob I do miss my long locks. I didn’t think that I would be able to find any extensions that would hide my short do underneath.
