Fashion is the second most environmentally unfriendly industry, second only to oil. The rapidly changing fashion industry means that people are buying more clothes than ever before. Unwanted garments leave a tremendous carbon footprint.
The fashion business is a complicated one involving manufacturing, shipping and retail. However, it is easy to forget about the effect that the excessive use of natural resources, pesticides and farming, harvesting and discarding of these clothes has on the environment. One of the major contributors to fast fashion is H&M. In order to become more environmentally friendly, they have created the ‘Global Change Award’ by their H&M conscious Foundation to find ‘green’ ideas that can change how the future of how fashion is designed, created, transported, purchased, used and recycled in order to protect our planet.....
