Valentines Day!
How did that happen? Seems like it was Christmas yesterday....
Legend has it that St. Valentine was a priest who died defending marriage under a Roman emperor that was opposed to the practice. This is unfortunately fiction and the true Saint Valentine was in fact two people. Neither was romantically involved and they were martyred on the same day in ancient Roman times.
You may be of the opinion that Valentines Day is purely a profit making, and you may be right.
In my humble opinion, we shouldn’t just show our loved ones affection on Valentines Day. I mean, what girl doesn’t love receiving flowers on a random Wednesday night in February from their boyfriend (I think I may have gotten lucky here).
Whether you embrace it or not, Valentines Day is coming.
Present buying is always challenging. How big a gesture to make, will they like it, will they get me something in return?
For those people who aren't in relationships, Valentines Day can still be fun. Last year me and some of my girlfriends got each other cards and gifts and had a girls night in with movies, nail painting, wine and chocolates. It was probably the best Valentines night I’ve ever had!
