Yesterday I went on a full day makeup course in Manchester.
I've always had a passion for makeup, to the point where at university I would get the other girls ready before I could myself. I must own £1000s of makeup and I love the ability to change your look completely with different technique.
I was really excited, and also a bit nervous to try out my passion in front of a makeup artist and hopefully learn some new skills.
Within minutes of arriving I felt completely comfortable chatting away with the other students about why were there and what we were expecting or hoping would come out of the day.
The makeup artist Hannah (who used to work for MAC and was enviably beautiful) demonstrated on a model the day look in the morning and a smoky evening look in the afternoon.
After much scribbling in our notebooks we partnered off and tried out what we had been shown.
The day look was more natural, we were shown how to expertly apply winged eyeliner, create a natural brow and a dewy finish. The evening look was bold, eye-catching and very smokey and we were given contouring tips and buffed our models to perfection.
I was really pleased with the feedback I received from Hannah and the fact that I met some amazing people on this course made it even more enjoyable.
The course is in Manchester, UK and the website can be found here
Since I was lacking in a number of the tools we used during the day I decided to splurge on some brushes when I got home. I'll post them up when they arrive :)
